Climate
The temperatures differ by a lot between day and night. It could be 30 degrees Celsius in the heat of the day, but at night, it could be only 10 degrees Celsius. The winter and summer temperatures can differ 30 degrees Celsius. In the Tarim Basin, you would only see 10 mm of rain annually, but near the mountains it can get as much as 100 mm per year. It can rain between 400-800 mm on the highest point, which is about 3000 m above sea level, which is high enough to interrupt arctic storms in the winter. The lowest elevation point is in the Tarim Basin, which is about 154 m below sea level. With the amount of snow in the mountains, it is obvious why there are so many oases in the Tarim Basin.
